Meet The Team
Before business school, Michelle was living in Manhattan and working as an Associate in Equity-Linked Capital Markets at BMO Capital Markets. In this role, she realized her passion for helping companies get the capital they need to grow and decided to go back to school and pursue a career in Venture Capital. This past semester, Michelle interned with Hatteras Venture Partners in Durham and plans to join SJF Ventures as their Venture Fellow this summer. Concurrently with her MBA, Michelle is working to receive her Masters of Science degree from UNC's Department of Biology. She graduated from Cornell University in 2014 with a degree in Biological Sciences. In her spare time, Michelle loves heading into the great outdoors, seeing live music shows, and designing new crochet projects.
As the President of EVC, Michelle is excited to provide opportunities for KFBS students to learn from and connect with members of the Triangle's start-up ecosystem, to demystify non-traditional career paths, and collaborate with the KFBS Community.

A Boulder, Colorado native, Marc graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in International Business. After university, Marc spent over four years working in business development within the executive search industry in London and then Denver. Marc chose to get his MBA at UNC to explore entrepreneurial opportunities and to develop the skills necessary to found his own company. Outside of school/work, Marc enjoys basketball, tennis, reading and international travel.
Jonathan grew up in Brooklyn, New York and attended University at Buffalo where he earned a BS in Business and BA in Economics. Following graduation, Jonathan returned to New York City where he worked in marketing for 7 years for several companies, including The New York Times and Club Quarters Hotels. Jonathan focused his career in digital marketing prior to business school, but decided to enter business school to focus on more strategic and business-ownership opportunities in Marketing and interested in both the finance side of accessing venture capital and learning how to start a business in the future. Jonathan enjoys rooting for the Bills, finding new craft beer, and discovering new places to travel.
David is originally from the Main Line of Philadelphia and graduated with a BA from Vanderbilt University in 2011. Prior to Kenan-Flagler, he spent 8 years working in technology in sales across LinkedIn, LivingSocial, and a startup, Ampush. In Chapel Hill, he is currently pursuing a dual concentration in Marketing as well as Business Analytics & Management Science with an enrichment in Entrepreneurship. This past Spring, he interned through VC Angel with Cofounders Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in internet and software companies in the triangle and throughout the southeast. Additionally, as the VP Off-Campus Recruiting for the Business Technology Club, David leads efforts to support the informal networking and recruiting process for Kenan-Flagler students interested in the technology industry. This Summer, David will be interning with Google in Global Business Development in the Bay Area where he lived for 6.5 years prior to attending UNC. Outside of school and work, David is passionate about Philadephia sports, tennis, triathlon, and US History.
Abby Decker grew up in Western North Carolina before attending the University of Virginia. She spent most of her career before business school in Austin and Atlanta where she worked and surrounded herself with entrepreneurship and innovation in advertising, staffing and retail. While in business school, she has focused on private capital investments and technology through VCIC, KFBS Private Equity Fund and Kenan Scholars. Abby enjoys hiking, playing tennis and her most recent hobby, figuring out how to garden.
VP of Internal Projects
Paige grew up in Kansas City prior to attending Indiana University, where she studied marketing. Post-graduation she moved to Chicago to start her career in the media industry with News America Marketing. She then pivoted to pursue a sales career in the energy industry with IGS Energy, inspiring a move to Los Angeles where she opened a new market for the company’s solar power division. After four years in an outside sales role, Paige chose to scratch her entrepreneurial itch by joining an artificial intelligence startup in the travel/tourism space. It was here where she discovered her passion for the intersection of entrepreneurship, technology, and people, leading her to pursue an MBA at KFBS. Paige is concentrating in Entrepreneurship, and will be spending her summer on the Corporate Innovation team at Chicago’s largest tech startup incubator, 1871. Paige is a self-proclaimed "World Explorer," having visited 30+ Countries and is an aspiring DJ.

VP of Entrepreneurship
Dennis is originally from Austin, TX and received his undergraduate degree from The Cooper Union in NYC. After college, Dennis worked as a data scientist at a Swiss investment banking firm in NYC and then in Raleigh. Dennis chose to come to UNC to pursue his interests in finance and investments, cultivate his business skills, and explore the world of entrepreneurship. During the spring semester of his first year, Dennis worked as a part-time intern at a local early-stage-investing VC firm. Then for the summer, he did an internship in portfolio management at a quant investment fund that's based out of Charlotte. In his free time, Dennis enjoys skiing, traveling, photography, and all things related to music.
Co-VP of Venture Capital
Alec Ohanian was born in Houston, TX where he studied Biology, Medical Ethics, and Business Administration at the University of Houston. Prior to business school, he worked in oncological research. Alec felt the drive to eventually transition into the medical provider space to have a more hands-on approach with the business aspects surrounding healthcare, focusing on market expansion. His focus is on venture capital in the healthcare space, specifically in the biochem, biotech, and small molecule sectors. He will be interning at ZX Ventures over the summer. Alec's hobbies include playing the violin, any and all things related to sports, trivia, and beating DOOK in Blue Cup.

Co-VP of Venture Capital
Becca is originally from Burlington, NC. Prior to Kenan-Flagler, she worked in consulting for Deloitte Government & Public Service at the Centers for Disease Control, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. During her time there, she discovered a passion for working in ambiguous situations, building tools and teams that cultivate healthy, confident communities. At KFBS, she is also the president of Carolina Women In Business (CWIB). This summer, Becca is interning at Facebook as a Project Manager on the Site Integrity team- working to prevent and decrease misinformation on the platform. After graduation, she is interested in pursuing opportunities in the tech, entrepreneurship and venture capital spaces. In her free time, Becca loves going to the dog park, even though she doesn’t have a dog (yet…).
